Getting started

How do we start working with Tulasa Tech?

Start with a conversation. Tell us what you're building, how your customers pay today, and where you want to get to, and we'll map the products that fit. From there we agree scope, requirements, and timelines before any build begins.

Which product is right for my business?

It depends on how you sell and who you serve. Businesses taking online payments usually begin with Checkout or payment links, while banks and issuers start with card personalisation, and communities with a closed-loop programme. Our team will talk through the options with you.

How long does it take to go live?

Timelines depend on the product, your systems, and the approvals involved. A hosted checkout or payment link can be ready quickly, while card programmes and closed-loop rollouts involve more planning. We'll give you a realistic schedule once we understand your requirements.

Do you work with businesses outside Nepal?

We work with businesses and institutions across a range of markets, and availability varies by product and payment method. Tell us where you operate and we'll confirm what we can support.

Payments

Which payment methods can we accept?

Our payment products support cards, digital wallets, and bank transfers, with QR-based options for in-person payments. The exact mix available to you depends on your market, your business type, and the approvals in place, so we confirm this during onboarding.

Do we need a developer to accept payments?

Not always. Payment links need no website or code at all, plugins connect to an existing store, and a hosted checkout keeps integration light. Deeper integrations are available when your team wants more control over the experience.

How do refunds work?

Refunds can be issued against the original transaction, and the payment status updates so your records stay accurate. Your team can see what was refunded and when, alongside the rest of your transaction reporting.

How do we reconcile payments with orders?

Every transaction is recorded with its status, from the first attempt through to settlement. Settlement reporting groups those transactions so your finance team can match payouts against orders without manual guesswork.

Billing and subscriptions

Can we offer both subscriptions and usage-based pricing?

Yes. Subscription plans and usage-based billing work together, so you can charge a recurring fee, bill for what customers use, or combine the two. Pricing can change as your product evolves without rebuilding your billing setup.

What happens when a subscription payment fails?

Failed payments can be retried automatically, and customers can be reminded to update their payment details before the subscription lapses. Recovering those payments protects revenue you have already earned.

Can customers change plans mid-cycle?

Yes. Upgrades, downgrades, pauses, and cancellations can be applied mid-cycle, and billing adjusts to match the change. Customers see the change reflected on their next invoice.

Rewards and engagement

Can a loyalty programme reflect our brand and rules?

Yes. You decide how points are earned and redeemed, how tiers work, and which rewards members receive, so the programme fits your business rather than a fixed template. Member communications can follow your brand too.

How is cash back calculated and credited?

Qualifying transactions are identified automatically against the rules you set, including rates, eligible purchases, and limits. Rewards are then credited to the customer, and your team can follow what each campaign costs.

Can rewards work alongside our card programme?

Yes. Loyalty and cash-back rewards can be linked to card transactions, including Tulasa closed-loop programmes, so members earn as they pay. That keeps the experience simple for the people in your programme.

Cards and closed-loop programmes

What card types can you personalise?

We personalise contact and contactless cards, including dual-interface cards, covering data preparation through to card finishing. Card design and specification are agreed with your team before production begins.

What is a closed-loop programme?

It's a card programme that works across the places in your own community, such as a campus, a transit network, or a group of retailers. Members use one card for everyday payments within that ecosystem, and you keep oversight of the whole programme.

Can a closed-loop card work alongside bank cards?

Yes. In-person payment points can accept both your community cards and regular bank cards, so people can pay whichever way suits them. Your team still sees the activity across the programme in one place.

Security and support

How is our data protected?

Security is built into how our products handle payment and card data, and sensitive steps in card production follow controlled processes. We'll walk your team through the specific requirements and obligations that apply to your programme.

What support do we get after launch?

Our team stays involved after go-live, and the support centre holds help articles and a route to reach us. For card and closed-loop programmes, we also support the day-to-day running of the programme.

Who do we contact if something goes wrong?

Reach the support centre for help articles and to raise an issue with our team. For anything urgent or programme-specific, your usual Tulasa contact is the fastest route.
